I did my part and called the Missouri Senator office. They said they will pass the message. I am not sure how effective it will be. But I will continue my efforts regardless. We come from a country where Gandhi got us independence through non-violence. I believe it is in our blood.

He has asked the absent senators via staffers that if they do not want to come to hearings, they can leave this committee and let others take their place. Apparently they need atleast one democrat to proceed.

Guys,
My AP received date if Oct 31, 2007 and I called NSC 10 days back and requested expedited processing due to my dad's illness (Lung cancer). The lady IO was nice and she initiated the process and while on the phone she was typing the required info on their system. Finally she gave me a WTC number and told me to go to local DO if I didn't get the AP within 10 days!
I was so happy!! Following the phone I saw soft LUD on my AP case for 3 days and then stopped. Nothing happened!! I've made an Infopass appointment for local Boston office USCIS and will see what happens!!!!
Anybody got a WTC number?

I am in too...How can we organize all the members...70,000 is a lot of people, Any thing done effectively and efficiently will make an impact.
That's the main issue we are facing. People come on discussion forums and talk big, but when it comes to actual execution - it is very few people who actually do things and there is no regulation.
Thats why IV created state chapters where people can organize themselves and follow directives from our lobbyists and collective work towards campaigns

Well there is definite gain for people who came here earlier which is more fair system. For example, I came in USA in 12/1997 but my PD is 06/2005. If someone who came to USA in 2003 (after 5 years I came) and is lucky to apply GC...lucky to get his labor+140 approved, he would get PD earlier than me!!
It may not help at all.
Chances are once you make the arrival date as the priority date, USCIS/DOS would set the cut-off dates to reflect the earlier PD's. For example if it is now May 2001, it could retrogress to May 1995. I don't see any gains there.

I am glad to see sked A here. I have been following this forum for a long time now and there is nothing for healthcare prof though the discussions were very helpful. As I can see it, the july VB put benefits on those going through AOS but as a result those whom I know who are scheduled for interview in their home countries in AUg. was cancelled.

The AOS reversal did not change availability of visa numbers.

Finally spoke to my congressman's Immigration contact in Bucks County PA.
He sounded supportive and said he will investigate the matter. I am going to call my state senators Sen Specter and Sen Casey's office as well.

A number of inquiries have come to us regarding delays in PERM labor certification case adjudication. Beginning early in 2007, there has been a noticeable slowing in case processing at the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Atlanta Processing Center. This center is one of two locations where PERM labor certifications are adjudicated. The other location is in Chicago. This slow-down is a marked change from the generally fast PERM labor certification decisions that had become the norm.

We at the Murthy Law Firm made inquiry about this matter, to gain some insight into why things had changed, and, of course, to determine how the situation might be improved. We were advised that personnel temporarily had been reallocated away from the PERM cases. The Atlanta Processing Center also processes temporary labor certifications needed in H2B cases. Due to demand and time constraints, personnel were diverted to work on the temporary labor certifications, which meant delays in the PERM labor certifications.

may 11 was five weeks back......its third week of june right now!!!
Still no favorable movements...I do not wanna miss this July deadline....I am sure dates for EB3 will retrogress in August.....then ticket to India and UAE!!

The USCIS automated line for Priority dates is still playing the PD's for June 2007 showing that EB-3 India cut off June 1st 2003 etc..
We have so contrasting images of the efficiency of USCIS. Hope they keep the same tempo as of the last week of June on Oct 1st when the FY 2008 quota kicks in.

Looks like 10 years experience is required for individuals applying under "Exceptional Ability".
They are targeting the wrong cases. They should have made the eligibility for EB1 Intercompany transfers harder by putting in more restrictions. Every tom dick and harry are eligible for the EB1 route. I know of many cases where the individuals are paid less than 70k and are processed in EB1 even though they have less than 10 yrs experience ,using the term multi-national executives. No offense on these individuals, but its not fair to impose restrictions on highly qualified compared to the EB1 Multinational route. JMHO

I have asked a few of my friends to call the list too. And I did another round of calling Tier 1 republicans only. It was pretty much the same response as the last time. I think that is their standard way of answering, - to sit on the fence.
Unless these issues are being discussed and called to vote, they will pander to whoever is talking. But, I think we still need to put continued pressure on them, hence the friends :)
