I've often blogged about high profile individuals denied entry to the US - reporters, movie stars, scientists coming for conferences, etc. But it's not so easy to cover the everyday humiliations faced by would be tourists at consulates around the world and airports throughout the US. Perhaps the Pakistani IOC official who grilled President Obama on why Olympic officials should not trust the President's promise of a friendly welcome actually did this country a favor. Most Americans are not even aware of just how unfriendly US immigration officials are to people who want to spend billions of dollars in our...

Illegal non-immigrants did the rally to local USCIS offices. It would be good if we pick one day in 2nd week of July and have a rally to local USCIS offices. This will immediately catch the media attention.

Rally news should be spread out to media so we can get enough coverage?

Let's discuss if you guys like this idea.

    Hello all,
Can someone guide me which category i am eligible to file my Labor with current employer?

As of today, i have bachelors + 6 yrs of experience. But when i joined my current employer, i had 4 years of exp.

    1. Am i eligible for EB2 category with Current employer?
    2. Or do i need to change current employer and file my GC?

    Thank you.

Keep new approved H1 and all related documents with you for POE, also EVL.

I enered POE twice in similar situation as yours without new stamping.
Both times POE (Atlanta) experience was good for me.

I just entered even after new USCIS memo.

    Good luck.

Sure doesn't sound right. I'd suggest some controlled tests, using a gray card (or even a white card). Check the actual color with your favorite editor (Photoshop, etc). It might be your monitor calibration, too.

At this point you don't really know if white balance WAS correct and, after the update, it's wrong - or vice versa.

My first H1 was from "Company A" back in 2001. Company A also sponsored me for my green card. In 2005 I transferred my H1 to Company B, however my green card was still sponsored with Company A. I have an approved I-140 and I am waiting on my PD to become current. My H1 is suppose to get renew in August of 2007, which will be through Company B.

I have heard that after 6 years renewal, your current H1 company should have sponsored you for green card in order to get the 7th year H1. And as you can see in my case that my previous company has sponsored me for my
H1 and not my current company.

Can someone put some light on this issue.

    Thanks,

    SHA

My case: NIW 140 approved, PD 2006/10, now 485 pending. But I am leaving USA to another country for a permanent job. I am not sure if I should withdraw the 485 or just convert it to CP.
    1. Will it be possible for me to get the green card thru CP if I get interviewed and can't show any ties with USA? Can I enter USA during CP? I hope to have green card in case I don't like my new job and come back to US someday. But I may just cancel 485 in order to affect the least my future visiting visa application. Suggestions?

    2. I am on H1 now, but H1 will expire 1 month before I leave USA. So I understand that I can stay legally on AOS for the one month, true? Do I need to do anything for switching from H1 to AOS? Again, I need to come back to USA for business/visiting, so I want to do everything right not to harm my future non-immigrant visa application.

Thanks a lot for your inputs!

The United Food and Commercial Workers Union International, one of the country's major unions, was upset about how raids were conducted in 2006 at Swift meatpacking plants around the country. So they did something about it. They created a commission of experts to hold hearings about work site raids and this week they released their findings in a report entitled Raids on Workers: Destroying our Rights. According to the UCFW: This commission was formed to examine allegations of abuse and misconduct by ICE agents during the course of immigration raids, said Joseph T. Hansen, founding chairman of the commission and...

    Hey all,

I am thinking of starting a company in partnership with an American Citizen. I currently hold H1B visa sponsored by my employer. If i start the company in partnership, can my partner/ my firm sponsor my concurrent H1B once the company is setup? My job will be quite similar to the job profile on my primary H1B.

I know the easiest is to be a silent partner, but in my case i might have to be involved 5-10 hours a week. So i understand concurrent H1B in my case would be the best. Any advise or feedback is greatly apprecaited.

In 1729, Jonathon Swift caused quite a stir when he published "A Modest Proposal For Preventing The Children of Poor People in Ireland From Being a Burden to Their Parents or Country, and for Making Them Beneficial to the Public." Swift suggested, in jest, that the Irish eat their own children. This blogger's "Modest Immigration Proposal," will not espouse cannibalism or infanticide, but may be met nonetheless with comparable revulsion by the Immigration Courts. I propose, without a trace of irony, that the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) should abolish a rule that imposes a form of involuntary servitude...
