I think sending out emails to everyone wont serve the purpose. It will become more of a Spam from IV, which won't help in any way.
AFAIK, IV sends email to its members, when they have updates. I hope this helps.
Also, all the state chapter leaders have been asked to sent out emails to their respective state chapters. So, people will be knowing about this campaign.

So what happens to people who already have a PD based on the labor(LC) date?
I dont want to go a step back in the line just cuz someone who had been lethargic all his life just woke up on his last day of his 6th year and goes "Ohh you know what I think I might be interested in a GC" ,when I had planned or had the *intent* to apply for a GC a few years before by applying for LC.

You need to hunger-strike when your lawmakers don't listen to you when you have no representation.
Here, lawmakers will listen if you know how to lobby.

I am planning to call PBEC for my case. My recruitment was completed early this month but the lawyers haven't received a recruitment report instruction letter. I want to request them to at least send the letter since everything else is ready. Did anyone have any luck calling on their own? Or do they only want to speak with employer/attorney?
Although, filing 485 now doesn't seem possible in this narrow time frame... still want to give it a last shot.
Very much appreciate a response from someone.

Thank you 'lazycis' for reconfirming this. Just 2 weeks back I used to think that keep working on H1B is lot safer than using EAD :o
H1B petition can be revoked automatically if a) employer notifies USCIS that the petition is withdrawn or b) employer goes out of business. See 8 CFR 214.2.(b)(11). So yes, EAD is much safer in this regard. Revoked H1B petition cannot be used for transfer/extension. It's nice to have H1B as a fallback, but it's not a safe heaven.

i had heard a lot of ppl everywhere talk abt "new numbers will be available from oct.".....due to fiscal year starting.....now that oct visa bulletin is out and there are no EB3 numbers for india as "current"....did they mean november visa bulletin which will release mid october?......or is bridge amendment the only hope for us Schedule A professionals now?

Hi Guys, Even my receipt date for AP is October 12th but status is still pending.
However, I got 2 soft LUD's on my I140 & I485 on 12/26/07 & 12/27/07. Can I expect my I140 approval????

More than 4 years ago when I started the process I really was looking forward to getting a GC and eventually citizenship. But a lot has changed in the last 4 years. GC process has become much harder (after 4 years I am yet to file for 140 and 485). At the same time the economy back home is booming. So the financial incentive to go thru the long process is really going down by the day.
More than the financial factor, I have gradually started realizing that no matter how many friends I make here its never the same as having a large family network that provides for social stability for each family. Also, I have started observing aging indian couples in US who came in 60's and 70's. They look pretty lonely and sad. I guess the question I am asking myself today is, is finanical success today worth the social loss I will face once I retire?
PS: Does anyone know how to turn a thread into a poll?

H1 status ends once u start using EAD (This happens after u file I9 with employer) Once you start working using EAD card, you cannot maintain h1b status at the same time.

What we are trying to achieve is not easy. If you are involved more closely with IV leadership - you will understand the hardships being faced at every stage.
Issues can only be resolved if we are a strong voice, and thats what we all want to be. It takes time and we have to be patient. We are in a lot better shape than we were sometime back.

USCIS must be busy to get ready for processing and collecting increased fees from these employers soon. The new filing fees will be a huge amount, especially when they decide to file a premium processing request. Can you imagine how much these employers will lose for a single case if the case is filed on premium and denied!! Ouch!

agree..... these new filing fees is a huge amount.... it would have been so good to let immigration lawyers make all this money..... better off.... senate should have passed a bill that immigration lawyers r doing public service & their fee should be increased by $2000....
